    10th Channel Network Conference

    IBS Region Event

    Monday, May 19 - Wednesday, May 21, 2025

The Channel Network Conference is a biennial conference organized by the International Biometric Society (IBS) channel network. The channel network comprises the Belgian, French, British & Irish, and Dutch regions of the IBS. This conference gathers statisticians, mathematicians, and data scientists to discuss the latest methodology for the analysis of data in the biosciences, including agriculture, biomedical science, environmental science, and allied disciplines. It is a 3-day conference with short courses, invited and contributed sessions. Usually, around 150 researchers from both academia and industry participate in the conference. In 2025, the Belgian Region will host the conference in Liege city.

As for all IBS conferences, contributed abstracts for both oral and poster presentations are welcome across the wide range of methodological topics and application areas pursued by society members. A non-exhaustive list of common topics is provided within the online abstract submission system. Prizes will be awarded to best student oral and poster presentations. These will be presented at the closing ceremony.

    Bioinference 2025

    IBS Region Event

    Wednesday, May 28 - Friday, May 30, 2025

BioInference aims to bring together researchers from across statistics and mathematical modelling who work with biological systems, to foster discussions and prompt collaborations between the two communities across all career stages.

After the previous three editions hosted in the UK, the BioInference 2025 conference is now going abroad to Italy! This year's conference is going to be a residential 3-days event that will include more talks and networking opportunities compared to previous years. A hike activity will take place on the second day!

The three-day conference will combine contributed talks and poster sessions. We now invite abstracts for oral/poster presentations on work on mathematical modelling and/or statistical methods (either development or application) for (widely defined/interpreted) biological problems. All presentations will be in-person with no-parallel sessions.

Click here to submit your abstract. The deadline for abstract submissions is on the 31st of January 2025.

It is our pleasure to confirm that this year's invited speakers are:

    Davide Risso, Università di Padova

    Zhana Kuncheva, Bioxcelerate AI

Antonietta Mira, Universit`a della Svizzera italiana (USI), Lugano

Jennifer Asimit, University of Cambridge MRC Biostatistics Unit

Ben Swallow, University of St Andrew's

    Jonasz Słomka, ETH Zurich

Diego di Bernardo, Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine

The registration fee (covering three lunches, all coffee breaks and one dinner) is expected to be around 185€ .

Organized by La Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Colombia, South America, with the collaboration of the Central American and Caribbean Region (RCAC) of the International Biometric Society and La Universidad de Nariño

The Simposio Internacional de Estadistica in Colombia would serve as a space to (i) disseminate, and discussion of statistical presentations that are conducted by statistical students, professors, users and researchers in statistics; (ii) generate dynamics in statistical activities, incentivizing the generation of new publications and the new statistical research paths, (iii) promote a space for the discussion of inter-institutional projects and to develop projects and agreements for inter-institutional projects, as well as the development of groups and research projects. This symposium has been one of the most important statistical scientific meetings in Latin-American in which people in academia and others professional sciences of the scientific community interested in diverse statistical applications, including Colombian residents or from other countries, would meet seeking to sharp their cutting-edge statistical knowledge, as well as to share their own experiences in this field. The 2025 symposium topic is Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Shari Messinger (University of Miami) is supported by the International Biometric Society and she plans a plenary session on “Clinical Trials for Implementation Science”.
