We're excited to share that registration and poster submissions for Statistics in Pharmaceuticals 2026 (SIP2026) are now open!

The SIP Conference is designed to introduce students and early-career professionals in quantitative fields to drug development and careers in the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory agencies. It also offers a valuable opportunity for students to engage with the field of clinical statistics and connect with professionals and peers.

Title: "Statistical Challenges in the I-SPY2 Sequential Multiple Assignment
Randomized Trial"

Abstract

I-SPY2 is a long-running phase 2 platform trial that evaluates novel neoadjuvant treatments for locally advanced breast cancer to identify those with high efficacy that are likely to be successful in phase 3 trials.  Recently, I-SPY2 was reconfigured as a sequential multiple assignment randomized trial (SMART), with up to three stages of herapy. At the first stage, a patient is assigned to a tumor-subtype-specific therapy. If the patient fails to show a satisfactory response, the patient is assigned to a second subtype specific therapy, and receives a third, rescue therapy if response is still not achieved. The I-SPY2 SMART thus supports identification of highly efficacious entire treatment strategies, also known as treatment regimes. A hallmark of I-SPY2 since its inception has been the use of Bayesian response-adaptive randomization (bRAR) to update randomization probabilities to give greater weight to treatments that appear more efficacious based on data from previous patients. The transition of I-SPY2 to a SMART required development of a new, analogous bRAR scheme to update randomization probabilities at each stage. In the first part of this talk, I will present the bRAR approach developed by the I-SPY2 statistical team, which updates randomization probabilities based on the posterior probability that treatments are part of an optimal treatment regime and which is use in the ongoing trial. The I-SPY2 SMART also provides an illustrative context for the range of questions that can be of interest when treatments are administered sequentially as part of a strategy. In the second part of the talk, I will discuss some of these questions. 

 

International Conference on Trends and Perspectives in Linear Statistical Inference, LinStat 2026

The purpose of the meeting is to bring together researchers sharing an interest in a variety of aspects of statistics and its applications as well as matrix analysis and its applications to statistics, and offer them a possibility to discuss current developments in these subjects. The conference will mainly focus on research of linear modelling methods, estimation, testing, and predictions in economic, medical, and social science data, analysis of multivariate and high-dimensional data with special regard to complex data structures, robustness of relevant statistical methods, estimation of variance components appearing in linear models, generalizations to nonlinear models, design and analysis of experiments, including optimality and comparison of linear experiments, and applications of matrix methods in statistics.

Australasian Applied Statistics Conference (AASC)

BAYST Workshop 2027

The workshop aims to bridge recent advances in Bayesian structural learning with applied sciences, fostering scientific discussion and collaboration between theoretical and applied researchers. BAYST will consist of 20 invited talks (with discussion) and 2 poster sessions (submissions are open at BAYST 2027) over two and a half days. 
 
Registration is free for all attendees. Coffee breaks, a welcome reception, and lunches will be provided for presenters (of either a poster or a talk). Moreover, BAYST will serve as the kick-off meeting for a potential new section in the International Society of Bayesian Analysis (ISBA) that will be officially proposed to the ISBA Executive Committee after the workshop.
